Finding purpose in the Word of the Lord

In my quiet time this morning, I was so encouraged in my time with the Lord, and I wanted to share what I “heard” in hopes of encourage you to press in to your Father.

“The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.” Isaiah 55:10, 11, NLT.

Son, my word always produces fruit. Always. That’s why I speak it, to produce fruit.

These mornings when we connect, and you hear my words, know that they produce fruit. They always produce fruit. I am here with you now, in you, around you, closer to you that you are to you.

Holy Spirit, continue to hone in on those areas of my heart that are dark, uncommitted, wounded, programmed incorrectly and just wrong. Help me see and fix those areas so that I can metanoeo, change the way I think and renew my mind in the Spirit of Christ.

Lord, help me see eternally, with heavenly, spiritual eyes. Help me focus on things above more than on things below. Teach me how to see with eyes of faith and how to hear with ears of faith. Lord, I believe. Help me in my unbelief. Teach me, Father.

Son, the more your surrender, the more you die, the more listen and obey, then the more I can move in your life. And, it’s not a linear move–it’s an exponential move. You move 1, I move 1. You move 2, I move 4. You move 3, I move 9. You get the picture. My plans and ways are so far higher than yours, that all I need is a surrendered heart to do mighty and amazing things.

“The eyes of the LORD search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9a, NLT.

I am always searching for hearts that are totally committed to me, for when they are, I can do amazing things, and I desire to do amazing things.

Russ, I have never met you, nor you I, so it’s unlikely that I would have ever ended up here, but I got here from a link on Bob Hamp’s site. I scrolled through Allen’s and Bob’s recent blogs [because I read both men's blogs consistently] and stopped here… at Finding Purpose. I have never read a blog where the writer’s conversation with God was posted. So different and so beautiful. I was deeply touched by what God had to say to you. This has inspired me to try a little of the same. Many times I do record what God is impressing on my heart but never in the exact words that come in that moment. How different would my writings be [to look back on] if I could go back and read what God had to said to me in any given moment? Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for the kinds comments. I appreciate you taking time to share your thoughts.

What you experienced on this site is what I was praying would happen–that others would be encouraged and inspired to “listen” for those divine whispers that are so important, so relevant, so life-giving! Your comments are very encouraging to me.
